Matthew Farrall Defib Unveiling and New Target

Save the Date: 28th July.

The first defibrillator has arrived! It is an AED semi-automatic defib that comes in its own carrying case and safe external cabinet.

There will be a small commemoration with family and friends, although we welcome all from the community to join us. During the commemoration, we will unveil the defib and the plaque in Matthew’s memory. There will be some words said, some poems read and quite probably some tears shed. We will also have refreshments provided by the cafe available for all.

This is a fine way to pay our respects to one of Whitley’s legends and we hope you find the time to join us. Proceedings will start at noon on 28th July at South Reading Community Hub.

Stretching our Goal – 3 Defibs

There is still time to donate to Matthew’s Just Giving Page. Due to the wonderful response, we have had we are now planning on buying three defibs. They will be spread evenly throughout Whitely so as to make sure that we have wide coverage for all in our community.

A Charity Gig In Memory of Matthew ‘Matty’ Farrall

Tickets can be booked in advance and all money is going to Matthew’s  Just Giving Page and any left over will go to an Alzheimer’s Society.

The bands playing were good friends of Matty or he was a fan:

Dino’s are a covers band playing classic rock from the last fifty years with the emphasis on ‘big’ songs that will have an audience up on their feet.

Kill Committee are from the garage underground of the sixties, the best bits of post-punk, and the definitive list of the only bands that have ever mattered.

Harroland are four piece Indie Rock/Electronic band based in Reading. One of the best new bands around.

Rumpo Kidz are made up of punks, misfits and all round good eggs. They like a drink. They are more punk than you. TV Smith and John Otway are fans.
